Wow! The creative process is a hit! Let’s talk some more about that and how it looks in everyday life. I said that creativity isn’t a magic mist – it’s actually a skill and the more you do it, the better you get. Sounds good, huh?
Create Everyday
If you look at the process itself, it’s really just solving a problem. That includes all kinds of problems – from what to cook for dinner to decorating your home to painting and drawing. It’s all the same process!

Well, that sounds like something we all do everyday, doesn’t it? Yes, it’s really that simple!
There’s a big question that comes up here is how to explain artists who create works with little apparent thought or effort – surely they’re doing something special and magical?
Nope – same process but they have worked with it for so long that the steps come to them very quickly without having to work through each step individually. Still, even accomplished artists will fall back to the basic process when a problem comes up or they’re working in less familiar territory.
The best part of exercising your creativity in solving everyday problems is that it carries over into your art and journaling practice. The more comfortable you get with encountering and solving creative problems, the more your creativity blossoms!
There’s so much more to explore about the creative process – we’ll definitely come back to this again!
