Are You My Next Teacher?
It’s the Most Fun You’ll Have at Work
The first and most important thing is commitment and work ethic. If you’re ready to commit time and effort to making your teaching dream come true, you’re almost there. While the time commitment can be flexible – after all that’s the best part about being an instructor – you do have to meet a minimum level of classes to participate. That means no flaking on filming that day because something shiny went by. Of course, I get that life happens and can be messy so don’t worry – we’ll work that stuff out.
It’s All About that Art
Art Journaling for Beginners and Shiny Designs is all about art, art journaling, mixed media and other creative expressions, so it follows that your classes must support that. But that covers a lot of ground! You’re free to teach anything you can think of that fits into the world of art, mixed media and art journaling: techniques, project step-throughs, skills, concepts and all the things that only you can come up with!
Be a Social Butterfly-ish
You should already have a presence on one or more of the major social media platforms (Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest, Instagram, etc.) but you don’t have to be an influencer. You’ll learn how to use what you have and grow from there. You will be promoting your own products, but you’ll get plenty of tips and advice to follow – easy, peasy!
Equipment and Tech Stuff
Of course, if you’re creating classes, you’ll need some equipment! Don’t worry – you don’t need tons of fancy equipment to create high quality classes. If you have, or can acquire, a short list of basics you can make great instructional videos, tutorials and handouts. Some video editing is definitely required but you’ll learn how to minimize that with careful planning. If you can use the basic tools to produce quality classes, we can work with it. As far as files and output types goes, you’ll need to be able to produce HD quality MP4 files and/or print quality PDF files.
How Long Do They Need to Be?
As long as they need to be and no longer! There’s no minimum length for a class or tutorial so don’t feel like you have to have a grand idea for a class. Sometimes the best classes are the shorter ones!
Spotlight: Your Classes!
You’ll see your courses and tutorials showcased in a carefully curated instructor collection in the Art Journaling for Beginners shop. Each instructor page is carefully designed to showcase your unique talent and viewpoint as a teacher. We’ll work together to present your work and talent in the best possible way. You’ll get guidance on current topics, tips for streamlining your workflow and editorial direction on classes. No more trying to figure out if something is “working” or not.
You could spend thousands of dollars paying for this kind of learning and support in classes. I’m offering you a chance to learn all this and much more while being paid! Why? Because I believe in investing in people and helping them develop their talent and skills. Basically, I believe in you and what you have to offer the world. There’s a lot of value in my program, that’s why I’m being very careful in selecting instructors as well as asking that you be ready to commit 6 months to the process to see real results.
Let’s Get Started!
This type of collaboration isn’t for everyone so it’s only going to be available to selected instructors on a limited basis. We will have a contract that spells everything out – no worry; it’s in normal English and not a million pages long. I don’t expect you not to sell your classes on other venues (Etsy, etc.) but I do ask that classes we develop together will only be available in the Art Journaling for Beginners shop for an exclusive period of 6 months.
