Open Studio LIVE! Celestial Mixed Media Watercolor Ornaments Materials and Supplies

Join me live on the Art Journaling for Beginners You Tube Channel at 2 PM EST on Saturday November 28, 2020 and let’s create together!

These are the materials and supplies I used and I’ll mention substitutes when they’ll work for you.

HELPFUL LINKS

(When available, I use an affiliate link where I may earn a commission to help you find the products I use and enjoy personally!)

Watercolor paper, I used Arteza 9×12 Watercolor Paper which is a mid-grade level paper and I really recommend you choose a medium quality or better paper because it does make a difference.

Watercolor Paint, I used the 16 color Prang Brand Student Set of watercolors so you don’t have to spend a fortune on paint to try watercolors. If you’re upgrading your materials, I use and recommend Winsor & Newton Professional Watercolors.

Heat Tool for faster drying, a hair dryer works but the heat gun is better for watercolors because it doesn’t move the paint around. But, you don’t really need either – time works too!

Acrylic Paint for stenciling, I’m using Michaels Artist’s Loft brand but you can use any good quality brand of acrylic paint.

Decorative Pattern Stencil, this is my favorite stencil pattern ever and I’m using the 8 inch x 8 inch version but have it in three sizes.

Water blendable media/mark making tools: I’m using a Stabilo All Pencil and it really does work the best but you can also use a Tombow marker in a dark coordinating color.

Watercolor Brush: I’m using the Neptune brand synthetic watercolor brushes in size 14, you’ll want a big enough brush that holds a lot of water to put plenty of paint down.

Water container: of course anything will do but I have and use this nifty foldable one  – it’s handy to have. And, if you’re feeling saucy, try the “Paint Water” mug in the AJfB shop.

Sili-Brush Glue Brush for application, you can use regular brushes or cosmetic wedges as well.

Cosmetic Wedges for paint application.

Inchie punch, I’m using EK Success one inch circle punch and it’s been a an invaluable tool for me.
